Brooke is a young artist who grew up locally but now splits her time between Vale, CO and Vermont. She has been painting without brushes, only palette knives, since 1993. In 2003 she began applying acrylics thickly to create what is now her signature "sculptures on canvas." Waves of paint swirl up to three inches off the surface, defying gravity with the help of a gel medium. Her work represents her passion for life, vibrant and bold. It is driven by her fascination with color and its subconscious meaning -- color represents emotions, experiences, and encounters. For her, the way they intermingle tells a story. Brooke's interesting and original paintings reflect the dynamic life that she has lead. At the age of 28 she has already worked for a U.S. Senator, started a business that landed her on the front page of the New York Times, worked with some of the world's most successful business people, and solo hiked Vermont's Long Trail. Now, fully committed to life as a professional artist, Brooke is seemingly destined for success and is already showing her work in numerous galleries around the country.
