Artist Bio:

Caroline Kelly Saganich was born and raised in Massachusetts.  She has a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and Philosophy from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.  After graduating, she spent a year working as a gallery assistant in Madison, Wisconsin as well as part-time at the Elvehjem Museum of Art.  In 1994 she returned to Massachusetts where she studied photography for two years at Massachusetts College of Art.  She then worked as a graphic designer in Boston for 7 years while doing both photography and painting in her spare time.

In 2003 she moved to Moretown, VT with her husband to devote to the majority of her creative energy to painting.  She has developed her unique style through experimentation, a reliance on spontaneity, and a desire to have fun.  Her paintings are created primarily with palette knives and her hands.  She also splatters paint onto the canvases and uses brushes only sparingly, sometimes not at all.  In addition, by mixing the majority of colors herself, and by using a measured level of chance in the creation process, she ensures that each painting will be unique.  The result is original art that is as entertaining to create as it is to look at.
