Wendy has a BA in Art Education and has been teaching art at Essex High School in Vermont since 1979. As her children have left home, she has recently made the shift form teacher to teacher/artist. With dreams as her inspiration, she combines negatives together to create surreal, other worldly photomontages. Her dreamscapes are often haunting, serene, or magical and are created from photographs she has collected over the last twenty years. In the brief amount of time that she has been exhibiting her work, she has been very successful, winning the Horace Eldred Award for photography in both 2004 and 2005 and the 2005 Photography Exhibitor Award at the "For Art's Sake" show at the Helen Day Arts Center in Stowe, Vermont. She has also participated in several solo and juried group shows throughout Vermont. |
